ACCESSIBILITY
Accessibility statement
Canadian Civic Review aims to make its journalism usable with keyboards, screen readers, text enlargement and a range of viewport sizes.
Features included
- Semantic headings, landmarks and labelled navigation.
- A skip link for keyboard users.
- Visible keyboard focus indicators.
- Descriptive alternative text for editorial images.
- A large-text control and responsive page layouts.
- FAQ controls that expose expanded and collapsed state.
Known limitations
Browser zoom, very long translated strings or unusually narrow embedded views may affect layout. Image descriptions communicate editorial purpose but may not capture every visual detail. External email and telephone services are controlled by their respective providers.
Using the site
Use the “Large text” button in the header or the zoom controls built into your browser. Navigation, cookie choices and FAQ items are operable without a pointing device. The site does not rely on colour alone to communicate the status of interactive controls.
Feedback
If you encounter a barrier, email [email protected]. Include the page, task, browser or assistive technology involved and a brief description of the problem. Do not include sensitive identity or case information.
Ongoing review
Accessibility is treated as part of editorial maintenance. Significant template or interaction changes should be checked at desktop and mobile sizes and with keyboard operation before delivery.
